In a survey of persons wanting to quit porn, a whopping 83% of respondents confessed to having no one in their life to help them quit . Most of the 83% are understandably too ashamed to publicly acknowledge that they have a sin problem and seek help. Most of the 83% would likely welcome a way of escape that does not require enlisting the aid of an accountability partner or group. How to best go about gathering in the shame-filled 83%?
OPTION #1—AN EXTREMELY DIFFICULT, PROVEN BIBLICAL WAY OF ESCAPE (STARVE THE FLESH)
I might respond to such surveys by gently reminding the 83% that, while it does require some limited public disclosure, and while it may be the hardest thing that they will ever do in their life (see www.wileygrafbooks.com/news/the-hardest-thing-v5), accountability is a proven Biblical way of escape from sins of the flesh (Galatians 6:1-2, James 5:16).
Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:1-2).
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5:16).
OPTION #2—A MUCH EASIER, SHAME-ELIMINATING BIBLICAL WAY OF ESCAPE! (FEED THE SPIRIT)
But what if there is another Biblically sound way of escape? A shame-eliminating (no public disclosure of a sin problem required), much easier-to-successfully-navigate, wholly Spirit-powered way (Galatians 5:16). Surely this would alter the way in which I go about gathering in the shame-filled 83%.
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).
A GAME-CHANGING BOOK HAS ARRIVED
In A Way of Escape, readers learn of a Biblically sound, shame-eliminating, much easier-to-successfully-navigate, wholly Spirit-powered way of escape from the lusts of the flesh (see www.wileygrafbooks.com/news/second-way-of-escape-v5). Readers learn how to escape by stepping up the degree to which they “walk in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:16). They learn how to build a library of Spirit-anointed, flesh-diffusing apps. Apps that are uniquely fitted to them, and their unique Spirit-filling triggers (Ephesians 5:18b-19).
The still-struggling 83% now have another option. The still-struggling 83% now have fresh hope for discovering that long-sought-after way of escape from sin and temptation (I Corinthians 10:13). A way that—because it is wholly Spirit-powered—does not require enlisting the aid of an accountability partner or group. Truly, a game-changer!
THANK YOU, HOLY SPIRIT!
