Complete mind renewal. Definitions vary. Today’s post shares the Way of Escape’s humanly-impossible-to-achieve definition. Yes, humanly impossible. On my own impossible. But no less than the expected outcome for all who learn how to step up the degree to which they “walk in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:16).

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).

COMPLETE MIND RENEWAL DEFINED

The Way of Escape definition of complete mind renewal is captured in another author’s four-word catch phrase summarizing ownership rights of that certain member of the male believer’s body: God-Wife-Me-Pee [1].

I am not my own. I have been bought with a price, the precious shed blood of Jesus Christ. God is therefore the first owner (I Corinthians 6:19-20). If I were to marry, my wife would be the second owner (I Corinthians 7:4). I am the third owner. But I have urinating rights only. To have gotten to this place in my Christian walk, my mind had to first be completely renewed.

AN IMPOSSIBLE-TO-ACHIEVE STANDARD

“An impossible-to-achieve standard!” the world cries. “No one—not even the most disciplined church leader—could possibly achieve that level of self-control.”

ACHIEVED BY WALKING IN THE SPIRIT

EXACTLY! No one in the Church could achieve that level of self-control—in their own power. But for believers that have learned how to step up the degree to which they “walk in the Spirit,” such a high and lofty level of mind renewal is not only possible, it is the expected outcome.

A GAME-CHANGING BOOK HAS ARRIVED

In A Way of Escape, readers learn how to renew their mind by stepping up the degree to which they “walk in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:16). They learn how to build a library of Spirit-anointed, flesh-diffusing apps. Apps that are uniquely fitted to them, and their unique Spirit-filling triggers (Ephesians 5:18b-19).

The still-struggling now have another option. The still-struggling now have fresh hope for discovering that long-sought-after way of escape from sin and temptation (I Corinthians 10:13). A way that—because it is wholly Spirit-powered—does not require enlisting the aid of an accountability partner or group. Truly, a game-changer!

THANK YOU, HOLY SPIRIT!
